the French real estate market is quite different from other European real estate markets. Negotiations between the selling and buying parties are normally handled by the real estate broker. All sales have to be verified by and in front of a French notary, who writes final "acte de vente".
The buyer will pay typically 6-7 per cent on top of the sales price for this service covering as well French state taxes as the notary's fee.
